Louise lives in an inner city home with a flat roof. As cabling would be difficult in this situation, she decided to pick up one of those DIY battery based systems. She found the resolution to be not very clear when trying to identify faces. She also found it tiring having to change the batterys on a bi monthly basis. Also she realised that when the internet drops out, she loses any recording over that period.
We recommended a completely wired 6MP system with local storage. She was worried someone would take the recorder so we installed some SD cards into the cameras themselves, thus there would be recording stored in both the NVR and the camera. The installation involved conduit from every camera to the recorder unit which was difficult, but our installers did it as neat as they could along the eaves. The installation involved 2 technicians over 1 day and cost more than the standard implementation, but over the long term it would be well worth it.
